I’m a born and bred south Georgia girl. I love the South in spite of its faults. It’s my home. It took me living somewhere else for 13 years to realize how much I missed not only my family, but the people, the atmosphere, the accents, the craziness, the odd ball characters, and Spanish moss dripping from old oak trees.
Family is very important to me. After all, I drove 5,577 miles from Alaska to Georgia in 2012 to return to my home town to live closer to them!
Some of my other favorite things are family history, historic preservation, history, trying my hand at organic veggie gardening, eating a vegetarian diet (but with cheese, eggs, and cream for coffee; maybe some fish once in a while; and of course the occasional chocolate), learning to raise chickens (for the eggs), being outdoors (except when it’s over 80°F, 85% humidity, and the mosquitoes are biting). My guilty pleasures: British and (English-subtitled) Korean romantic comedies and modern and period dramas (don’t judge!).
I’m currently writing my first novel. Making up the story was the fun part. Writing coherent sentences is the hard part, but I’m learning to be a better writer every day! I’ll bring you along with me on this journey. My writing blog will focus on my current writing project but will include other things I want to share.
